The following two classes are regularly scheduled and presented at the ACUPRESSURE INSTITUTE in Berkeley, California (1533 Shattuck Avenue @ Cedar). Each of the two classes is 12 contact hours usually presented in a two day format.

Tuition for classes taken at Acupressure Institute is $335 per class and CEU's are provided by the school for nurses. Limited tuition scholarships are available for the ACUPRESSURE FOR HIV/AIDS class for clinical staff and massage volunteers at AIDS Service Organizations and other interested professionals who provide service to people living with HIV/AIDS.

 Purpose:
To provide an opportunity for deeper learning about the Chakras,
methods to assess their functioning, and chakra based treatment techniques for
clients and self care.
  Objectives:

By completion of the workshop, participants will have:

  1. reinforcement of the basics on the Chakras:
  2. a deeper appreciation of the importance of centering and consciously opening the Energy Body as a healing channel
  3. understanding of the Energy System and relationship of the Energy Body to the physical body
  4. suggestions on integrating Chakra Energy Work with other healing modalities
  5. knowledge and experience with:
    • Acu-Yoga exercises related to each Chakra
    • POWER POINT BALANCE (self care process)
    • three methods of assessing the Chakras to identify energy blocks
    • Chakra Connection: Full body Energy Treatment
    • Drain and Fill Technique
    • POWER POINT BALANCE STRETCH (self care process)
  6. awareness of resources related to Energy Medicine and the Chakras
  7. opened blockages and revitalized their Energy Body

conditions related to living with HIV/AIDS and Acupressure principles
and techniques useful in optimally treating these conditions.

 
Objectives:

By completion of the workshop, participants will have:

  • increased knowledge about HIV/AIDS
  • understanding of the common conditions related to living with
    HIV/AIDS and side effects of medications
  • understanding of Acupressure’s usefulness in HIV/AIDS
  • hands on practice with an IMMUNE BOOSTING FLOW FOR
    HIV/AIDS and a self-care tool (POSITIVE POINTS) for use
    with clients living with HIV/AIDS
  • awareness of resources related to HIV/AIDS, medical and
    complementary treatment options

The workshops and presentations are tailored to meet each group’s needs, are highly experiential, and designed to disseminate self care tools to support optimal healing and well being to participants. The purpose of this workshop is to provide a self development,
experiential opportunity for Massage Therapists, Fitness Professionals, Health Care Providers, and athletes to learn about Energy Medicine principles and techniques for
application to their self care programs and professional work with others.

 

 


By completion of this workshop, participants will have:

  1. a deeper appreciation of centering and experience with a process useful for daily grounding and centering
  2. knowledge of the components of the Energy System and their relationship to the functioning of the physical body
  3. knowledge and experience with three methods of assessing the Energy System to identify energy blocks
  4. familiarity with tools and methods to assist in opening / clearing blocked chakra centers on self and others
  5. experienced a self care process, THE POWER POINT BALANCE, that can be utilized to open, boost and balance energy power and flow
  6. awareness of the potential applications of Energy Medicine concepts, principles and tools in their personal self care program and professional work.

OBJECTIVES
By completion of the workshop, participants will have:

1. knowledge about the field of Acupressure: Principles, Various modalities, and usefulness as a complementary treatment strategy in managing HIV/AIDS

2. understanding of the common conditions related to HIV/AIDS and side effects of medications

  • Weak immune system
  • Fatigue
  • Digestive Problems
  • Neuropathy
  • Depression
  • Muscular Stiffness and Joint Pain
